(PM) Geisa, 14.08.2014 - A compression press manufactured by KrausMaffei type KM 3600 is literally a giant novelty in DEGUMA's stock: The horizontal clamping unit with four guide columns has a press force of 3600 tons, with a clamping surface of max. 2600 x 1800 mm (as such the tool is threaded from the top). The clearance between the columns is 2280 x 1800 mm. The maximum stroke of the locking cylinder is 1900 mm. The tool height can range from 1100mm to 2000 mm.The press, which was originally designed as injection molding machine was comprehensively overhauled and transformed into a pure compression press in 2012. Since its renovation, the press was no longer used in production and will soon be dismantled by DEGUMA technicians and taken to the factory site in Geisa.Until the end of August, a visit to the press yet installed at its present site in Germany is possible.
