DEGUMA has been operating in the rubber and plastic industry for 25 years now.
(PM) Geisa, Germany, 17.03.2015 - In the year 1990 Winfried and Barbara Schütz founded the DEGUMA-SCHÜTZ GmbH in Weyhers, Hesse and began their endeavours in mechanical engineering. At this point, Winfried Schütz had been working in this field for five years together with Peter Uth, brother of Barbara Schütz, known as Schütz + Uth Maschinenbau GmbH.
In Weyhers, the couple and 15 employees continued this enterprise, including buying and selling machines nationally and internationally as well as offering service and installations. Already at that time, the machine portfolio was extensive: presses, calenders, mixing mills, extruders and cutting machines were offered in as-is condition or refurbished.
Weyhers was just a temporary arrangement and in 1995 the new 4.000m2 building with offices, workshops and storage area in Geisa / Thuringia, adjacent to Hesse, was inaugurated.
In 1999 the business field was expanded by incorporating the mould carrier production for polyurethane processing acquired from Kannegiesser. Slowly but surely storage and exhibition areas were outgrown. As a result, in 2008, an additional building with office and warehouse space was acquired in the vicinity (Werk II). Meanwhile, the DEGUMA-SCHÜTZ GmbH has 5.600 m2 workshop and storage space and more than 500 machines in stock. The company employs 30 people and has customers throughout the world with global sales into more than 30 countries.
Today, the DEGUMA-SCHÜTZ GmbH is specialised in rubber and plastic processing machinery including its high-end refurbishment based on the latest state-of-the art standards.
